Thank you for writing this. It has always been my impression that Astrud Gilberto was treated badly and dismissed as “only a housewife” when in fact she was a talented musician.

It went on for years after as she was left penniless and forced to work for Getz to feed her children while enduring his constant abuse. Taylor only paid her because he legally was required to, not out of any concern for her, he was the key mover who cut her out of everything at the direction of Getz. That $120 was spitting in her face! Getz, Taylor and Joao made millions!
