I probably have some sentimentality attached to this album as it was my introduction to Satchmo. I remember taking the album out of the library out of curiosity having heard of but never having head the great Louis Armstrong. Well, after hearing about three notes of his trumpet, I said to myself that this is the music that I want to hear for the rest of my life. It was my real introduction to jazz, a life changing moment for me. To this day, I consider the sound of Louis’ trumpet to be the most wonderful sound that God ever created.
