Very cool article on the history of the horn . I am a Trumpeter along with playing Cornet. There is also an instrument called the “Bass Trumpet”. It will be seen in marching bands and also some classical settings. There are two shapes and sizes. One is rounder and shorter,on the stubby side, with a mellower dark complex sound, similar to a Cornet. The other one is longer, more elongated skin to a Trumpet. I own both types and I use them for Hip Hop/ Jazz and Instrumental Jazz. They are both in B flat, and are in the same register as the Trombone. Beautiful horns!!!
