Freshman college year, the guy on the other side of my dormitory room wall used to BLAST Buddy Rich’s “Keep the Customer Happy” album over and over again from Labor Day clear through to Memorial Day and getting me totally hooked on that album. I found it today on Youtube. That album cover brought back the only fine memories I had of that slum-on-an-appalachian-hillside college I went to (“Alfred University, Majoring in the Human Experience!” exclaimed the billboard on the road upon entering campus—that was the first uneasy sense I had that I should have accepted that ticket to Cornell.) Go listen to it folks, it’ll blow your socks off! Rest in peace, Buddy.
