Grover is considered to be one of the founders of the smooth jazz genre.

He was only 56 years of age when he passed away suddenly in New York City on December 17, 1999.

I remember some connection to Boston, I thought he was born here. I was thinking about what happened to him. I remember him with Miles Davis.
