That’s a good point and something we should have done !

I can add a comment in regards to an amazing set of books I’ve read from the trumpeter Jeremy Pelt (based in NYC). His books GRIOT (Vols 1,2,3) are just amazing sources of knowledge and tips from other professional jazz musicians. If you haven’t read these, and you are a jazz musician (or aspiring jazz musician) they should be your first 3 textbooks.

I appreciated this article Mr. Fripp, well done and it must have taken a minute to gather all this material.

Best, Matt Ramagli
(former Tour Manager/ Indianola Music Group executive and I’ll never forget the hang/vibe at The Fez for the Mingus Big Band back in the day)

Thanks Debbie, glad you enjoyed it! I don’t think I have the patience to write a book; I’ll leave that to the expert like you!

My one regret is that I grew up in NYC and could have seen SO MANY of the greats and only got into jazz later in life, after I moved out of NYC and many of these iconic players were gone.
